Mailboxes in Palm Desert, California

More than 10 years ago I had another blog (Paul the Junk Food Junkie) and, you guessed it---goodies from bakeries, patisseries and konditorei were featured. Back then I also posted unusual mailboxes I came across while cycling through Bermuda Dunes, California (population 12,000). The other day I snapped these mailboxes in Palm Desert, California (population 40,000). Who says a mailbox is just a mailbox?

 Bass or trout?
 Black stallion?

Don't know why this mailbox is so low to the ground.
Looks like a Rube Goldberg contraption.

 Looks like Fort Knox.
 Beehive or for baking bread?
Methinks this is a homemade paint job.
 Pumping water?
 Lizard and roadrunner.
 What the heck?
 Lizard or frog on top?
 Very modernistic.

 Hummingbirds.
 Volcanic?

 Dalia Lama?
This home is not about the mailbox but, the dozen golf balls strategically placed on rocks scattered around the front yard.
Same house. Yep, those are golf clubs sticking out of the ground. Betcha it was the husband's idea.
