Mailboxes in Palm Desert

Palm Desert, California (population 50,000) lies 120 miles east of Los Angeles and 15 miles east of Palm Springs in the Coachella Valley. The width of the valley floor (which includes Palm Desert and Palm Springs) measures about 20 miles and its length 60 miles. It's a mecca for golfers with over 120 golf courses (I believe it's the highest concentration of golf courses in the world). Cycling around Palm Desert I've been snapping photos of mailboxes.

Yep, this is a mailbox shaped like a golf ball.

Turn your head sideways and you'll see it's a golf bag.

Another golf ball mailbox.
Would you like cheese with your wine cask mailbox?

Which way is the wind blowing with this windmill mailbox?

This is cool. License plates from nine different states were used to make this mail box. Count 'em up in the two photos.

What kind of fish is this?

Looks like a hummingbird.

Cactus mailboxes seem to be pretty popular. Here are three.

The milk man cometh.

A John Deere tractor?
